NSW Procurement and the Office of Public Works & Services, in the NSW Department of Commerce, are NSW Government agencies working with government clients to deliver a range of work from better building to smarter buying.
For many of our business units, our history extends back to the original Quartermaster's Stores from when the First Fleet arrived. As the result of a merger in 1995 between the Public Works Department and various commercial services, we became the Department of Public Works and Services (DPWS).
Following the State election on 22 March 2003, DPWS was incorporated into the new Department of Commerce, together with functions of the former Departments of Industrial Relations, Fair Trading and the Office of Information and Communications Technology, previously part of the Department of Information Technology Management and known as OIT.
Through the Department of Commerce we will continue to be a service provider that delivers:
Our experience and understanding of the requirements of working within government gives us a unique understanding of our clients' compliance, risk management and probity needs. Our policy role was a logical extension to our portfolio of services and was established to guide industry and government agencies in a variety of functions from accommodation, construction and procurement to asset management.
Please take the time to browse our website and we look forward to your comments. |
