The Procurement Capability Tool

The level of expertise that is applied to procurement planning and management can have a significant and lasting impact on the cost efficient delivery of services. Strong organisational procurement capability requires the right mixture of leadership, appropriate skills and resourcing, effective management, the right practices and processes and informative measurement systems.

Many organisations may be unaware of their overall procurement capability and may tend towards practices that impact adversely on their outcomes. Without understanding where their strengths and weaknesses lie they have no basis for development and improvement.

The Procurement Capability Tool provides a simple method to help measure and improve overall procurement capability.

Agency Accreditation Scheme for Goods and Services Procurement

The Procurement Capability Tool can be used by agencies to assess their level of capability as part of the preparation for Accreditation Assessment. A printed report from the Tool can be submitted with the assessment application.
